Ping Identity Certified Professional
The Ping Identity Certified Professional – PingDirectory certification measures the candidate’s ability to describe how to perform basic installation and configuration tasks.
This exam covers the following knowledge about PingDirectory version 8 or later:
Product Overview
o Describe the product's features, functionality and basic use cases.
o Describe the product's data storage engine.
Installation and Initial Configuration
o Outline the system requirements.
o Explain how to perform interactive and non-interactive installations on Windows and Linux.
o Describe the product's file system structure.
o Describe how to perform an upgrade of the product.
User Interface
o Describe the functionality of the administrative console.
o Describe the purpose of various command-line utilities included with the product.
o Describe how to use the dsconfig command and its options to configure the PingDirectory server.
o Describe how to review configuration changes.
General Configuration and Maintenance
o Describe how to perform management tasks for entries.
o Describe different data types and their uses, sensitive attributes, virtual attributes and JSON attributes.
o Describe how to enable logging and create retention/rotation policies for logs.
o Describe how to create, export or import encryption settings definitions.
o Explain how to create password validators and define policies.
o Identify how to install an updated PingDirectory license.
o Define the purpose and use of the collect-support-data command to generate a report for support purposes.
o Explain how to configure backup/restore backends manually for both full and incremental backups.
o Define the purpose of lockdown mode and describe how to enter/exit it.
o Explain how to use the manage-account command to manipulate and view password and account policy properties for users.
o Describe how to import and export data into/from the backend database using the import-ldif and export-ldif commands.
o Explain the use of the make-ldif template.
o Demonstrate knowledge of how root and topology users and privileges are managed.
o Describe how to create and manage indexes.
o Describe how to configure additional attributes for SCIM.
o Describe how to configure replication and define topologies.
o Describe the purpose and use case for PingProxy.
o Describe the purpose and use case for PingDataSync.
o Describe the different group types and their uses.
Exam Delivery
This exam is delivered as a remotely proctored, multiple-choice exam. There are roughly 60 items on the exam and a time limit of approximately 90 minutes. For more information about how remotely proctored exams are delivered, please refer to our testing guide.
